Japan outlines plans for use of plutonium in its 2010 research program

The Japan Atomic Energy Agency announced its plan to use plutonium in its research and development program in JFY2010 (1 April 2010 to 31 March 2011).

The agency expects to have 3.1 tonnes of fissile Pu at the end of JFY2009 and 3.0 tonnes - by the end of JFY2010. All plutonium use is related to Japan's experimental fast reactors.
